What to look for in neck lift photos.

The jawline edge
Follow the line from the chin to the ear. Look for one clean edge, with less loose skin or fullness hanging below it.
- 02
The neck angle from the side
The side view shows the angle under the chin most clearly. A front view can hide most of the change.
- 03
The same head tilt
Tipping the chin up tightens any neck. Check that the head sits at the same angle in both frames.
- 04
Months after surgery
An early after can still show swelling under the chin. Ask how many months after surgery the after was taken.

What does a neck lift fix, and what can’t it fix?
A neck lift, which ASPS calls a lower rhytidectomy, treats four things ASPS lists: jowls, fat under the chin, loose neck skin and muscle banding. ASPS also says it doesn’t change your fundamental appearance and can’t stop aging.

How much does a neck lift cost?
ASPS says the average neck lift costs $7,885, but that’s the surgeon’s fee alone, from statistics it shows with no year. The Aesthetic Society’s $5,270 is 2022 data whose footnote names surgeon and facility fees, and CareCredit’s $6,149 comes from a lender’s October 2023 study that doesn’t say what it includes.

Recovery
How long is neck lift recovery?
Cleveland Clinic says most people go back to work 7 to 14 days after a neck lift, and The Aesthetic Society puts recovery at about one to two weeks, varying greatly from person to person. Johns Hopkins says pain, swelling and bruising are gone within two weeks for most people, though swelling can take up to three months to go down.

If a case matters to you, ask the practice who performed it, when the photos were taken, and whether the patient gave permission for publication.
When are Neck Lift after photos usually taken?+
The useful after photos are taken once swelling has settled, often well after the 2 weeks downtime window. Early afters can look tight, high, or puffy. Ask when every photo was taken.
What should I look for in Neck Lift before and after photos?+
Start with befores that share relevant features, then compare consistent angles, similar starting point, natural transitions. Published examples help you form questions; they do not verify the treating provider or predict your outcome.
