Why trust Afters?
Afters is a free patient discovery service for browsing before-and-after records attributed to practice profiles — currently 42,059 published records across 801 U.S. practice profiles. Organic feed order is not sold. Attribution identifies the publishing profile; it does not independently prove the treating clinician, consent, image history, or clinical outcome. Verify clinician credentials with authoritative boards before you choose.
The three rules that make it work
1. Results have a visible practice attribution.
Every displayed record links to its publishing practice profile. That makes the source visible and reportable, while keeping the limits of attribution explicit.
2. Nobody can buy their way up.
No paid organic feed position. Procedure and location relevance, content completeness and freshness, and practice diversity organize the feed; none is a clinical quality score.
3. Every number is checkable.
The statistics we publish are computed from our database nightly and mirrored as machine-readable JSON on the data pages. Cite them, audit them, call us on them.
Common questions
How does Afters make money if patients never pay?
Patients use Afters for free. One flat fee becomes due in a practice’s Afters ledger when a patient accepts its written quote. Afters does not automatically charge a card or collect patient procedure payments. Eligible no-book and no-show fees can be submitted for discretionary credit review, and the fee never buys a higher organic feed position.
Can practices fake their before-and-after photos?
A result is publicly attributed to a practice profile, but Afters does not currently perform an independent forensic or consent review on every image. Ask the practice who performed the procedure and whether publication is authorized. Report suspected stock, scraped, manipulated, duplicated, or AI-generated content for review.
Why should I use Afters instead of a surgeon’s own gallery?
Afters puts published results from multiple practice profiles into one procedure-and-location discovery flow, so you can save examples and compare questions to ask. It is still a curated record, not a complete case history or proof of typical outcomes.
