Facelift cost starting points have a middle half of $15,000 to $27,900 across 7 practices’ own posted full SMAS prices, and separately $13,000 to $25,000 across 26 practices posting facelift with neck lift, checked October 16, 2026. The full-SMAS sample is very small: 8 own-fee rows from just 7 practices; the neck sample has 27 rows from 26 practices.

The bands mix surgeon-only, partial, all-in and unitemized fees. Each practice contributes its lowest eligible figure once per scope; both surgeon rows remain visible where applicable. Chain offices do not become independent observations. Get a dated written quote for your operation.

What is the average cost of a facelift?

ASPS posts an average facelift cost of $11,395 on its undated cost page, checked October 16, 2026, but excludes anesthesia, operating-room facilities and related expenses and supplies no patient denominator or technique subgroup there. That number cannot answer the total cost of a full SMAS facelift or a face-with-neck operation. The Aesthetic Society’s $9,679 uses 2022 data, while CareCredit’s $12,747 to $32,459 comes from its cited 2025–2026 research.

These references measure different things and must stay beside their definitions. The Aesthetic Society’s report heading calls its figure a surgeon fee, while its procedure page calls it surgeon and facility fees; that ambiguity remains unresolved. AAFPRS itself publishes two different consumer descriptions. Neither a society estimate nor a lender’s context range is a current quote from a practice. Do not add a guessed anesthesia allowance to a benchmark and call the result a national total.

Does a full SMAS facelift cost more than other facelifts?

FaceSculptor posts full SMAS facelift surgeon fees of $14,000 for Weng and $23,000 for Pontell, two surgeon rows from one Wayne, Pennsylvania practice checked October 16, 2026; those prices do not establish a technique premium over another facelift. The full-SMAS collection has only eight own-fee rows from seven practices. Differences in surgeon, extent, neck treatment, setting and inclusions prevent a clean price comparison between technique names.

ASPS’s October 2020 anatomy education identifies SMAS in the mid and lower face and platysma in the neck. It is anatomy education, not an outcome cohort. Ask which tissues are treated and how. An advertisement without a price-specific tissue method stays in technique-not-stated; nearby technique descriptions and photos cannot fill that blank.

Does a shorter facelift incision mean a lower price?

ASPS describes three facelift access choices on its undated procedure page checked October 16, 2026, including traditional and limited incisions, but gives no price comparison for those choices. Traditional access can run from the temple hairline around the ear into the lower scalp; a separate under-chin incision may be used for neck work. A shorter access route alone does not identify the tissue work, billable time or complete cost.

Keep the scar and operation plans on separate lines. ASPS’s shorter temple-and-ear route does not identify the support-layer technique. If proposed incisions differ, ask which areas each plan treats and what needs a separate procedure. The drawing maps that conversation without predicting scars or assigning a fee.

How much does a facelift with neck lift cost?

Facelift with neck lift has a middle half of $13,000 to $25,000 among 26 practices’ lowest own posted figures, using 27 eligible rows checked October 16, 2026; Philip Young’s and Kassir’s pages illustrate the much wider spread. Philip Young posts $9,500 to $12,500 including anesthesia and follow-up with facility not stated, while Kassir starts at $75,000 with fee basis not stated. Neither price is the incremental charge for adding a neck lift.

The 2020 midline-platysmaplasty review describes central neck work as an adjunct to lateral SMAS surgery, not an automatic part of every facelift. Ask separately about neck skin, fat and platysma, the thin neck muscle. A face-with-neck label still does not establish that every possible deep-neck maneuver is included. The posts below price whole named combinations. Subtracting an unrelated face-only price would mix surgeons, methods and fee bases and would not produce a valid neck add-on charge.

Bitner posts mini facelift at $16,000 to $20,000 and a separate deep-plane starting figure of $17,000 in two Layton practice pages checked October 16, 2026, but the inclusions differ and the mini page contradicts its own table. The mini prose describes all-in pricing that can include additional procedures; the deep-plane floor has fee basis not stated. These two advertisements do not establish a surcharge for deep plane or savings from choosing mini.

ASPS’s June 2025 article says mini facelift has no standard definition; a short-scar label does not establish the tissue method. Neither comparison collection enters our starting-point samples. These two practices illustrate why identical-looking totals can cover different bills.

Request one written total identifying separate billers and exclusions. Surgical fees or comprehensive estimate may not establish facility and anesthesia inclusion. Patronella’s terms include those charges at its own center but exclude them offsite. Tests, prescriptions, garments and visits may be billed elsewhere. Missing information does not establish a free service.

Bitner posts $19,000 for facelift with brow lift as a surgeon-only fee in Layton, one retained combination offer checked October 16, 2026; operating-room and sedation charges are separate. The same practice describes an average $750 facility charge and sedation starting at $300, with time affecting the latter. Those components do not establish your complete package bill or the price of a brow lift alone.

Record every procedure and ask which additions are optional. Shared operating time does not establish a discount. Subtracting unrelated procedure pages cannot produce an add-on fee. Bitner’s repeated offer is one observation, not another practice’s price.

FaceSculptor in Wayne posts $14,000 and $23,000 full-SMAS facelift surgeon fees, Popp in Omaha posts approximately $17,400 to $18,400 all-in, and Parakh in Englewood posts $29,000 to $49,000 with fee basis not stated, three practice examples checked October 16, 2026. These are local advertisements, not city averages. The eight full-SMAS own-fee rows from seven practices are too sparse and uneven for a reliable metro distribution.

Location identifies your facility and travel needs, without establishing why prices differ. Chopra’s Miami pages conflict; Goals’ Brooklyn floor is a chain advertisement. Compare complete quotes for the same operation before concluding another metro is cheaper. The opening chart retains every full-SMAS row’s fee basis.

University of Utah Health posts an estimated facelift range of $11,050 to $15,450 with fee basis not stated, while Aesthetica in Lindon starts at $14,000 and Peak in Draper posts $14,000 to $20,000, three technique-unstated Utah examples checked October 16, 2026. The 15 retained Utah rows span multiple scopes, market descriptions and a duplicate. None provides an own-fee full-SMAS-only Utah price for this guide’s seven-practice starting-point sample.

Separate the University’s elective estimate from a complete quote and do not infer bundled neck work from Peak’s page heading. Bitner’s facelift-plus-brow offer is surgeon-only, while its mini and deep-plane comparisons have different inclusions. Mobley’s modified-deep-plane floor is a comparison with terminology and time-based-fee qualifications. Ward’s SMAS, mini and deep-plane figures describe the market rather than its own fees. Chopra Cosmetic Surgery in Fairfax starts revision facelift at $19,500 surgeon-only, and Mentz in Houston posts $35,000 to $55,000 all-in, two separate revision advertisements checked October 16, 2026. Neither establishes what your original surgeon would charge for a correction or what an insurer would pay for a complication. The foundation retains six revision rows, including a market description; the chart selects four own-fee examples with their own scope limits.

A planned secondary facelift, dissatisfaction and a medical complication can have different financial arrangements. The patient-source review found no complete written revision policy linked to an itemized paid bill. Ask who pays every biller in each situation. A surgeon-fee waiver does not establish that facility or anesthesia charges are waived.

Does insurance pay for a cosmetic facelift?

ASPS says most health plans exclude facelift surgery and its complications on its undated cost page checked October 16, 2026, but this is general education rather than a decision on your benefits. The eight retained payer and authority records include different cosmetic exclusions, limited functional or reconstructive language and one unresolved Select Health access gap. A cosmetic facelift should be budgeted as self-pay unless your own plan gives a specific answer. Policy text is not a coverage guarantee.

Aetna CPB 0031, reviewed June 25, 2026, has a functional-impairment narrative alongside a noncovered code-table placement; a listed condition or code is not an approval. These are patient-reported amounts, not verified invoices or independent practice fees. Six selected records below include repeated components and clarifications from the same episodes.

Washington describes one consultation, not two paid bills. Atlanta’s neck technique does not establish the facial technique. Chico’s rounded reference is not an exact bill; hotel spending is separate. Allure repeats an interview elsewhere. None of these reports enters the posted-price spreads.
