Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure—it's a body contouring procedure. Here's what you should know: Safe fat removal is typically limited to about 5-6 liters (11-13 lbs) in a single session for outpatient surgery. Larger volumes require hospital overnight stay and increase risks. Liposuction targets stubborn fat deposits that don't respond to diet and exercise, not overall weight. Ideal candidates are within 20-30 lbs of their goal weight with good skin elasticity. If you want to lose 30 lbs, I'd recommend reaching closer to your goal weight first through lifestyle changes, then using liposuction to refine specific areas.
