Liposuction

Does liposuction leave loose skin?

I'm worried that if I get liposuction, I'll be left with saggy skin. Does this happen?

Whether liposuction causes loose skin depends on your skin quality and the amount of fat removed. Good candidates have elastic skin that snaps back after fat removal. Factors that increase loose skin risk include: age over 45-50, significant sun damage, prior weight fluctuations, very large volume removal, and thin/less elastic skin. During your consultation, we assess skin quality with a "pinch test." If you have concerns about skin laxity, you may benefit from a skin-tightening procedure (like BodyTite or Renuvion) combined with liposuction, or a surgical lift (tummy tuck, arm lift, etc.).
