You absolutely can get pregnant safely after a tummy tuck—there are no medical contraindications. However, pregnancy will stretch the skin and muscles that were tightened during surgery, which can compromise your results. The degree of impact depends on how much weight you gain and your genetics. Some patients maintain good results after a subsequent pregnancy, while others need revision surgery. For this reason, most surgeons strongly recommend completing your family before having a tummy tuck to get the most value from the procedure. If you're on the fence, it may be worth waiting. If you do get pregnant after, a mini revision is often less extensive than the original procedure.
