Lip filler discomfort is very manageable. Here's what to expect: Most fillers contain lidocaine (numbing agent), so discomfort decreases as the injection progresses. We also apply topical numbing cream for 15-20 minutes before treatment. Patients describe it as a "pinch" or "pressure" rather than sharp pain. The entire procedure takes only 15-30 minutes. Ice is applied afterward to minimize swelling. On a scale of 1-10, most patients rate it a 3-4. The lips are sensitive, so you'll feel something, but it's very tolerable. If you're truly needle-phobic, let us know—we can use dental blocks for complete numbing.
