Most women can breastfeed successfully after breast augmentation. Your ability depends largely on the surgical approach: Inframammary (under the breast) and axillary (armpit) incisions have the least impact on milk production. Periareolar incisions (around the nipple) may slightly increase risk of breastfeeding difficulties, but most women still breastfeed successfully. Implant placement (over or under the muscle) doesn't significantly affect breastfeeding. If future breastfeeding is important to you, discuss incision options with your surgeon.
