Microneedling

Is microneedling worth it?

I keep seeing microneedling promoted everywhere. Does it actually work or is it just marketing hype?

Microneedling is backed by solid clinical evidence and is genuinely effective for several concerns. The treatment creates controlled micro-injuries that trigger your body's wound healing response, producing new collagen and elastin. Where it excels: fine lines, mild acne scars, enlarged pores, overall skin texture, and improving product absorption. Where expectations need to be realistic: it won't replace a facelift, dramatically change deep wrinkles, or clear severe acne scars in one session. Most patients need 3-6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart for noticeable improvement, with maintenance treatments every 3-6 months. Professional microneedling (1.5-2.5mm depth) is significantly more effective than at-home dermarollers (which only reach 0.25-0.5mm). Adding PRP (platelet-rich plasma) can enhance results. For the cost ($250-700 per session), it's one of the better value treatments in dermatology.
