Afters’ recheck uses one qualifying lower endpoint per practice. Starting prices establish floors, surgeon-only fees leave other bills open, and unitemized ranges need clarification. Full, mini and liposuction-combination prices do not enlarge this unspecified-scope sample. Neither group is a random US sample or a record of completed bills. Ask what the advertised operation removes and whether it covers both arms. The check date describes when evidence was examined; it does not lock a price for your surgery. What is the average arm lift cost, and what does it leave out?

ASPS’s undated arm lift cost page states, “The average cost of an arm lift (brachioplasty) is $6,192”; checked October 18, 2026, that figure excludes anesthesia, operating-room facilities and related expenses.

Benchmarks describe different things

ASPS · $6,192

“The average cost of an arm lift (brachioplasty) is $6,192” Latest statistics; year not identified on webpage. Arm lift; excludes anesthesia, operating room and related expenses; no separate technique subgroup.

The Aesthetic Society · $4,838

“Excision Excess Skin $4,838” 2022. Broad excision excess skin category; NOT isolated arm lift or full brachioplasty.

CareCredit / Synchrony · $6,732

“The average cost* of an arm lift is $6,732 for both arms.” Article July 26, 2024. Lender estimate; other expenses add to price; not practice fee or separate full-incision statistic.

CareCredit / Synchrony · $5,230 to $12,978

“The cost ranges from $5,230 to $12,978, depending on the actual procedure and your geographic location.” Article July 26, 2024. Lender estimate; price basis incomplete; no technique-specific total.

CareCredit / Synchrony · $7,197; $4,835 to $12,109

“Arm lift $7,197 $4,835 to $12,109” July 17, 2026; 2026 ASQ360 survey; ©2026. Lender-published comparative context, not a practice or binding bundle quote.

ASPS does not identify the statistics year in that sentence. The Aesthetic Society’s 2022 figure describes broad excess-skin excision, not isolated brachioplasty; its original report labels aesthetic plastic surgeon fees. CareCredit’s July 2024 article and July 2026 mommy-makeover table describe different dated figures. The later table is lender-published context, not a binding bundle quote. No benchmark isolates your incision length, chest extension, surgeon or facility. The figure reproduces each benchmark’s wording and category limits. Keep these figures separate from practices’ own prices and patients’ payments.

14 price observations, checked October 18, 2026. Each line keeps its operation scope and fee basis. A starting floor has no stated maximum. These advertisements do not measure what patients usually pay.

The Aesthetic Society describes standard brachioplasty for excess from armpit to elbow. Enhanced Form’s fee is surgeon-only; Aesthetica’s Lindon starting figure includes surgery, anesthesia and the operating room. Others state partial bundles or leave inclusions unstated. Those differences don’t establish whether either plan suits you. Ask where the incision ends and whether fat removal costs extra. An unspecified “arm lift” schedule does not necessarily buy this scope. A finite advertised range also does not cap every patient’s bill. The drawing explains extent without predicting your scar.

Ask your surgeon

“Does my full arm lift plan run from armpit to elbow, and what is separately billed?”

How much does a mini arm lift cost?

Mini arm lift prices range from $4,500 to $7,500 at Better Plastic Surgery; Rafizadeh through $8,800 to $12,800 at Patronella Plastic Surgery (Dr. Christopher Patronella) among 6 practices’ own axillary-scope rows checked October 18, 2026.

Mini / axillary arm lift

6 price observations, checked October 18, 2026. Each line keeps its operation scope and fee basis. A starting floor has no stated maximum. These advertisements do not measure what patients usually pay.

The Aesthetic Society describes limited surgery for suitable excess near the armpit. A smaller incision does not answer whether it treats skin along the rest of your upper arm. Patronella’s axillary row explicitly includes liposuction; other mini rows do not promise that adjunct or a complete bundle. Better Plastic Surgery’s range varies with extent and possible liposuction. Compare incision location, tissue removal, anesthesia and inclusions in writing. A mini price is useful after the surgeon explains what limited surgery could address. The procedure guide goes deeper on candidacy.

Ask your surgeon

“What would a mini arm lift leave untreated on my arms, and is liposuction included?”

How much does an extended arm lift onto the chest cost?

Extended arm lift prices include AMG’s starting $13,173, CosmeticSurg’s $14,500 and Rosett’s starting $17,500 across three own-fee chest-extension rows checked October 18, 2026.

3 price observations, checked October 18, 2026. Each line keeps its operation scope and fee basis. A starting floor has no stated maximum. These advertisements do not measure what patients usually pay.

The Aesthetic Society describes an extended scar through the armpit onto the chest side; UT Southwestern also describes a pectoral extension after weight loss. The corrected price classification requires chest scope, not just the word “extended.” AMG and Rosett also include arm liposuction, as flagged below. Their starting prices have no stated maximum. CosmeticSurg distinguishes traditional from thoracic surgery on the same page, but that comparison does not establish a universal extension surcharge. Have the surgeon mark both regions and identify any separate bra-line operation.

Ask your surgeon

“Where would my extended arm lift cross onto the chest, and which adjuncts are priced?”

How much is an arm lift with liposuction?

Arm lift with liposuction has 18 retained, deduplicated own-fee observations in Afters’ October 18, 2026 recheck table, and each practice’s bundle must be read separately.

Arm lift with liposuction

18 price observations, checked October 18, 2026. Each line keeps its operation scope and fee basis. A starting floor has no stated maximum. These advertisements do not measure what patients usually pay.

These practices price combinations with different incision descriptions and fee bases, not interchangeable full skin-removal operations. Some give several observations for different services. Don’t subtract one practice’s advertisement without liposuction from another practice’s combination to invent an add-on fee. Even same-practice differences can involve more than one change. Ask whether fat removal covers arms alone or another region. The Mark Richards row is withheld because its thigh-lift heading conflicts with its arm-price sentence. For fat removal without excision, use the linked liposuction guide.

Ask your surgeon

“Which areas receive liposuction, and is each charge included in my arm lift total?”

Does combining an arm lift with another surgery reduce the cost?

Neaman’s arm lift plus thigh lift bundle is $23,000 to $30,000 in the one deduplicated own-fee “with other” row checked October 18, 2026; it does not establish an arm-only price or a universal combination discount.

Neaman names doctor, surgical-center, anesthesiologist, pre-surgical and follow-up charges; its rates are based on PatientFi financing. Patronella’s reduced arm components when combined are not complete bundle totals. Ask for combined and separate-stage estimates if both approaches are medically appropriate. University of Utah says healing can take longer with another operation. Compare follow-up, help and recovery arrangements as well as operating costs. The packet does not establish that combining suits you. Follow the linked guides for body lift, thigh lift and tummy tuck rather than adding unrelated published ranges.

Ask your surgeon

“Can you itemize my combined quote and any medically appropriate staged alternative?”

ASPS lists possible fee categories; checked October 18, 2026. These blank fields are your quotes, not an estimated surcharge.

ASPS’s list identifies questions, not promised inclusions. Aesthetica’s full starting total names surgery, anesthesia and the operating room; Enhanced Form’s full fee is surgeon-only. Ask who sends each invoice, whether both arms and expected operating time are covered, and what changes if the setting or duration changes. Use separate worksheet lines for garments, testing, prescriptions and follow-up. A blank does not mean included. Ask which payments are refundable after postponement. The verified packet supplies no standard surcharge to fill these blanks.

Ask your surgeon

“Will you give me one written arm lift total identifying every included and separately billed item?”

The Aesthetic Society names geography, surgeon and technique as cost factors, but this packet cannot isolate geography’s contribution. The figure shows named practices, printed locations and verified city top-ups without city averages or rankings. An absent city indicates missing posted evidence. Check the surgery site rather than a service-area heading; some offices sit outside their advertised metro. For an out-of-town practice, ask about follow-up, transport, help and where concerns would be assessed. The packet supplies no standard travel allowance. Compare the same written operation and fee categories.

These are four deduplicated own-fee observations, not a Utah average. Only Aesthetica’s independent row explicitly establishes full scope and a core fee bundle. Peak’s own-fee attribution is weak; confirm directly. Cascade’s Orem range describes its area, not its own fee. University of Utah’s duplicate procedure page adds full-incision context to the same schedule and is not another price observation. Lindon, Draper and Layton are printed office locations despite Salt Lake City marketing. The figure separates scopes and labels the market observation. Request current individual estimates.

Does insurance cover an arm lift after weight loss?

Cigna 0470, effective September 15, 2026, makes arm lift coverage conditional on the member benefit and all applicable redundant-skin criteria; weight loss alone does not establish coverage.

Read the payer and the product

Aetna · CPB 0031 · reviewed June 25, 2026

“arm (arm lift, brachioplasty)” appears in the cosmetic list. Aetna CPB 0031 lists arm lift/brachioplasty and excess arm skin excision among procedures considered cosmetic.

Cigna · 0470 · effective September 15, 2026

“Coverage for redundant skin surgery varies across plans.” Cigna 0470, effective September 15, 2026, says coverage varies by plan and its conditions apply only when the service is a benefit. Cigna requires ALL listed conditions, including functional deficit from severe deformity, expected functional improvement, documentation and interference with daily activities. Cigna requires preoperative photographs for upper-extremity redundant skin; the sensitive-area documentation exception does not designate the arms. Cigna requires nonfacial skin disease such as persistent intertriginous dermatitis, cellulitis or ulceration refractory to at least three months of applicable medical treatment. After significant weight loss, Cigna requires at least six months of stable weight PLUS one of its modality-specific conditions. Cigna’s bariatric-surgery branch requires at least eighteen months since surgery in addition to six-month weight stability and the other ALL criteria. Cigna’s GLP-1 branch permits stability on treatment or following discontinuation when applicable; the policy does not require every patient to stop GLP-1 therapy. Cigna excludes appearance-only redundant skin surgery and liposuction alone outside another medically necessary procedure.

Anthem/Elevance · ANC.00009 · published October 1, 2026; reviewed August 13, 2026

“Benefit language supersedes this document.” Anthem ANC.00009, published October 1, 2026, considers brachioplasty medically necessary for significant functional impairment persisting despite optimal medical care and expected to improve with surgery. Anthem calls brachioplasty cosmetic when functional impairment is absent or the operation is not expected to improve it. Anthem says not every benefit contract covers reconstructive services and that benefit language supersedes this policy.

UnitedHealthcare · MP.007.33 · effective June 1, 2026

“Excision, excessive skin and subcutaneous tissue (includes lipectomy); arm” is in its considered-cosmetic code table. The general reconstructive framework does not override this classification or the member contract.

Medicare · public coverage page · undated; checked October 17, 2026

“unless you need it because of accidental injury or to improve the function of a malformed body part.” Medicare’s patient page says most cosmetic surgery is not covered, with exceptions for accidental injury or improving function of a malformed part; it does not give an arm-lift-specific approval rule.

Blue Cross NC · Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery · revised September 9, 2026; reviewed August 2026

“BCBSNC will not provide coverage for cosmetic procedures as defined above.” Blue Cross NC’s cosmetic/reconstructive policy excludes cosmetic procedures and defines reconstructive indications; this is a North Carolina policy, not Regence BCBS of Utah.

Policy text is not a coverage guarantee.

Cigna’s criteria must be read together, including functional deficit, expected improvement, daily-activity interference, photographs and nonfacial skin disease despite applicable treatment. After significant weight loss, weight stability and method-specific conditions also apply. The GLP-1 branch does not require everyone to stop medication. Other payers use different wording; their cards preserve those differences. Medicare’s public page is general education, not a local arm-lift approval rule. A patient’s insurance conversation is neither an authorization nor a reconciled paid claim. Policy text is not a coverage guarantee.

“Which exact plan provision and current arm lift policy will you use for a written coverage determination?”

Regence · Surgery 12 · effective September 1, 2026; reviewed July 2026

“Specific member contract language has precedence over medical policy” Regence Surgery 12, effective September 1, 2026, says the member contract takes precedence; its generic reconstructive criteria are not a brachioplasty approval promise. Regence says treating functional impairment may be medically necessary if other contract exclusions do not apply. Regence’s coding table includes 15836 for excision of excess arm skin/subcutaneous tissue; a code listing alone does not establish coverage.

PEHP · Cosmetic Surgery · effective February 24, 2025; next review February 20, 2028

“Brachioplasty (arm lift)” is explicitly listed among noncovered cosmetic procedures. PEHP’s cosmetic policy, effective February 24, 2025, explicitly lists brachioplasty/arm lift under noncovered cosmetic procedures. PEHP says coverage can vary by employer group and diagnosis; its general functional-restoration language is not a specific arm-lift exception. PEHP’s downloaded State of Utah master policy is labeled 2026–2027 despite its older filename; the plan document defines cosmetic treatment by absence of functional restoration.

University of Utah Health Plans · 2026 individual Exchange EPO · January 1, 2026 · §§9.18 and 12.21

“Any surgical procedure performed primarily to improve physical appearance.” UUHP’s 2026 individual Exchange EPO §9.18 gives specified cosmetic/reconstructive exceptions but also specifically excludes lipectomy, abdominoplasty, panniculectomy and liposuction; it establishes no arm-specific approval pathway. UUHP defines cosmetic surgery as primarily improving physical appearance; this individual EPO document must not be generalized across every UUHP product.

SelectHealth · archived policy 463 · reviewed February 14, 2025; current arm-specific effective date unverified

“Select Health uses InterQual coverage criteria when medical policy is not available.” SelectHealth’s archived policy 463, last reviewed February 14, 2025, lists arm/leg panniculectomy or liposuction including brachioplasty as not medically necessary in its Commercial/CHIP section; current full policy text remains unverified. SelectHealth’s October bulletin identifies policy 463 and says other panniculectomy circumstances are cosmetic; this announcement is not full current brachioplasty criteria. SelectHealth’s current directory links a separate medical-policy portal and says InterQual is used when medical policy is unavailable; complete current arm-lift criteria remain unverified.

Policy text is not a coverage guarantee.

Regence’s code listing does not establish entitlement. PEHP’s employer-group variation does not cancel its explicit arm-lift listing. UUHP’s individual Exchange EPO has explicit lipectomy, abdominoplasty, panniculectomy and liposuction exclusions; its general functional-restoration language establishes no arm-specific pathway and cannot be generalized to other products. SelectHealth’s archive and October bulletin leave complete current criteria unverified. Ask which document governs your product and service date. Abdominal skin-removal coverage does not establish arm coverage. Keep the self-pay estimate separate until a written determination arrives. Policy text is not a coverage guarantee.

Ask your surgeon

“Can my Utah plan identify its current arm-specific terms and all exclusions in writing?”

Plan the payment

Can I finance an arm lift, and what would payments cost?

An illustrative loan for Aesthetica’s $10,500 full arm lift starting price costs $523.70 monthly over 24 months at 17.9% APR using standard amortization and terms checked October 18, 2026.

One starting price, four illustrative repayment schedules

24 months · 17.9% APR

$10,500 principal; $523.70 monthly; $12,568.70 total; $2,068.70 interest. Standard amortization, checked October 18, 2026. No fees or down payment. Not actual Alphaeon card billing or an offer.

36 months · 18.9% APR

$10,500 principal; $384.36 monthly; $13,836.87 total; $3,336.87 interest. Standard amortization, checked October 18, 2026. No fees or down payment. Not actual Alphaeon card billing or an offer.

48 months · 19.9% APR

$10,500 principal; $318.96 monthly; $15,310.06 total; $4,810.06 interest. Standard amortization, checked October 18, 2026. No fees or down payment. Not actual Alphaeon card billing or an offer.

60 months · 20.9% APR

$10,500 principal; $283.47 monthly; $17,008.20 total; $6,508.20 interest. Standard amortization, checked October 18, 2026. No fees or down payment. Not actual Alphaeon card billing or an offer.

Alphaeon’s posted terms support these equal-payment illustrations, not actual card minimums, daily-balance billing, approval or an Aesthetica offer. The principal is a starting floor; no fees or down payment are assumed. Full precision is used before rounding monthly, total and interest to cents, so multiplying rounded payments can differ slightly. Deferred-interest promotions are different: missing full payoff can trigger interest from purchase under the agreement. Minimum payments may not clear the balance. Read your actual disclosure and use the shared financing guide for broader comparisons.

Ask your surgeon

“What are my actual APR, fees, total payments and promotional payoff conditions for this arm lift quote?”

Plan the payment

What recovery expenses should I budget for after an arm lift?

Duke describes four to six weeks of arm lift compression in its patient guidance, checked October 17, 2026, so garments and help with restricted tasks need a place in your budget even when surgery is bundled.

Budget by task, not by a fixed allowance

Garments

Duke describes four to six weeks of compression; ask which garment and replacements your quote includes.

Work and help

University of Utah describes two to three weeks before returning to work, with individual clearance for heavy lifting.

Transport and home

UT Southwestern describes ten to fourteen days for nonphysical work and driving, subject to recovery. Ask about rides, household work and follow-up visits.

Three institutional protocols, checked October 17, 2026; education, not measured recovery cohorts or clearance.

These are institutional protocols, not measured averages or personal clearance. Utah gives two to three weeks for return to work; UT Southwestern describes ten to fourteen days for nonphysical work and driving, subject to recovery. Ask which restrictions affect your work, caregiving, dressing and transport. Budget actual costs after discussing your needs. Ask about garment replacements, dressings, prescriptions and extra visits. Kellawanda’s historical combined-surgery diary illustrates expenses outside surgery but cannot establish an arm-only allowance. The packet supplies no representative dollar recovery budget.

Ask your surgeon

“Which recovery tasks will I need help with, and which supplies or visits cost extra?”

Interpret other people’s bills

How much do patients say they paid for an arm lift?

Four patient-reported arm lift payments from Reddit discussions below include an Atlanta account of $4,800 and a central Florida account of $7,000 in May 2024; the sources were read October 17, 2026 and no invoice was verified.

Patient-reported payments stay separate

Patient-reported · $4,800

Atlanta, GA; not stated. bilateral arm lift; no liposuction per linked diary R05. not itemized. Same diary as R01/R05; later approximate amount must not be treated as a new bill. Source read October 17, 2026; no invoice verified.

Patient-reported · $7,300

Las Vegas, NV; not stated. arm lift without liposuction. not stated. No itemization; early follow-up. Source read October 17, 2026; no invoice verified.

Patient-reported · $8,000

Washington DC (from linked R23), DC; not stated. mini arm lift; inclusions not stated. not itemized. Same diary as R23; no invoice or component reconciliation. Source read October 17, 2026; no invoice verified.

Patient-reported · $7,000

central Florida; city not stated, FL; 2024 (May explicitly stated). bilateral brachioplasty; inclusions not stated. not itemized. Different commenter from employer-plan story; do not combine payment or coverage accounts. Source read October 17, 2026; no invoice verified.

The Atlanta diary describes bilateral surgery without liposuction but no itemization or verified year. The Las Vegas and Washington DC accounts also lack itemization; Washington is specifically mini surgery. The Florida amount belongs to a different commenter from the employer-plan story, so it establishes no insurance payment. Repeated diaries, rounded recollections, quotes and final payments are different observations. The selected video also gives one personal payment without itemization. Use these accounts to ask about scope and inclusions. Combined bills and partial components cannot establish arm-only prices.

Ask your surgeon

“Which differences between my operation and these patient accounts explain my itemized price?”

Before paying a deposit

Who pays for arm lift scar revision or another operation?

The October 18, 2026 price recheck contains zero retained revision arm lift price rows, while ASPS and The Aesthetic Society say further procedures may be needed after an arm lift.

Put later-care responsibility in writing

Surgeon

Ask whether a professional fee is waived under any written correction policy and what eligibility or timing limits apply.

Anesthesia and facility

Ask whether these bills remain payable even when a surgeon offers a correction.

Wound care and scars

Ask who evaluates a concern, where follow-up occurs and what treatment costs extra.

Changed scope

Ask for a separate plan and quote if correction requires more skin removal, liposuction or another operation.

ASPS and The Aesthetic Society describe possible further surgery; no retained practice row prices revision arm lift as of October 18, 2026.

Missing revision prices do not mean correction is included or necessary. Ask how wound assessment, scar treatment, residual contour concerns and revision requests are handled. A waived surgeon fee would not establish that anesthesia, facility or supplies are covered. Request written conditions and time limits before paying a deposit. The placement drawing promises neither concealment nor avoidance of later expense. Compare photos with similar scope and follow-up, and read the linked one-year account as one person’s experience. Finish with the operation, total, deposit terms and responsibility for later care.

Ask your surgeon

“What written policy defines my responsibility for scar treatment, complications and any later arm lift revision?”

How we researched arm lift cost

We used the October 17–18, 2026 corrected claims and KEEP/FIX price recheck, including the verified city top-up. Practices’ own advertisements, market wording, benchmarks and patient reports stay separate.

Posted starting points

Nearest-rank quartiles use one qualifying lower endpoint per practice in one scope. Fewer than 30 full-scope practices triggers the opening’s explicitly unspecified-scope fallback. Mixed fee bases remain labeled.

Prices and limits

Duplicate observations do not enlarge spreads. Two unresolved procedure-ambiguous rows are withheld. Starting floors are open-ended; no national typical price or city average is calculated.

Insurance and financing

Policies retain payer, product, date and exclusions. Policy text is not a coverage guarantee. Loan examples use standard amortization with full precision before rounding to cents, not actual card billing.

Patient and video evidence

Patient payments lack verified invoices and never enter practice spreads. Selected KEEP videos wait for playback assets. Accounts illustrate questions; they do not establish coverage, lender terms or usual outcomes.
