Thigh lift cost: How much does a thigh lift cost?
Thigh lift cost postings on practices’ own pages, including Bitar and Patronella, place the middle half of 22 practices’ own medial / inner thigh starting figures between $7,000 and $12,500, checked October 18, 2026. Because fewer than 30 practices post medial prices, we also show a separate group labelled “thigh lift” without a stated technique: its middle half is $8,000 to $12,000 across 87 practice websites. Each uses one lowest eligible own-fee figure per hostname and nearest-rank quartiles. The full medial posted spread is $2,215 at The Orthopaedic Surgery Center, a component excluding the surgeon, through $22,800 at Patronella Plastic Surgery, described as comprehensive surgery. Separately, unspecified postings run from $3,000 at Dr K Miami Plastic Surgery, inclusions unstated, through $20,000 at La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre, whose linked service also includes buttock lift. ASPS’s undated page says “average cost of a thigh lift (thighplasty) is $7,641”; it excludes anesthesia, operating room facilities and related expenses and states no statistic year. These posted prices aren’t a typical price or a final bill.

How much does a thigh lift cost in 2026?
Thigh lift cost postings on practices’ own pages, including Bitar and Patronella, place the middle half of 22 practices’ own medial / inner thigh starting figures between $7,000 and $12,500, checked October 18, 2026. The medial and unspecified groups have different denominators and stay separate. These are practice-posted starting points with mixed fee bases, not typical patient bills.

87 practice websites; 88 eligible observations. One lowest posted figure per hostname, nearest-rank quartiles. Checked October 18, 2026. Includes mixed fee bases, not solely complete surgery totals.
Some shared thigh/buttock labels do not establish isolated thigh-only surgery. Generic labels cannot be reassigned to medial surgery from a nearby technique description.
The October 18, 2026 research retains 221 practice-price observations, including four city top-ups, with nine scope labels kept apart. A practice can post several prices, so observations and practices are different denominators. The middle-half calculation summarizes the lower figure each eligible website advertises, whether that figure is a fixed estimate, a range’s lower end or an open starting floor. It does not estimate the middle half of patients’ payments. Fee components also differ.

What is the average thigh lift cost?
ASPS lists an average thigh lift cost of $7,641 on its undated cost page, but expressly excludes anesthesia, operating room facilities and related expenses, in the page checked October 18, 2026. The page does not state a statistic year or separate medial, mini, extended and spiral operations. Calling that number a complete 2026 quote would change what ASPS says. CareCredit’s separate March 7, 2025 article calls $8,715 the national average, with ASQ360 research performed in 2024; it is lender-published context, not an ASPS statistic.
Different sources answer different cost questions
“average cost of a thigh lift (thighplasty) is $7,641” latest statistics; data year not stated on accessed page. Only part of total; no technique subgroup or all-in figure. Checked October 18, 2026.
“The cost of a thigh lift varies by surgeon, geographic area, and the extent of your surgery.” undated. Cost varies by surgeon, geography, extent; no 2022 thigh subgroup fee established. Checked October 18, 2026.
“The national average cost* of thigh lift surgery in the United States is $8,715,” Article March 07, 2025; ASQ360 research in 2024. Lender-published context; not a practice price, subtype-specific fee, or ASPS statistic. Checked October 18, 2026.
“it can range from $6,825 to $16,937.” Article March 07, 2025; research in 2024. Lender range; fee-component completeness not established here. Checked October 18, 2026.
“Utah $8,848 Vermont” Article March 07, 2025; research in 2024. State estimate; never a Utah practice-posted price or target row. Checked October 18, 2026.
CareCredit also prints a $6,825 to $16,937 range and an $8,848 Utah estimate. Neither establishes what a particular Utah surgeon charges or proves the complete set of expenses included. The Aesthetic Society’s accessed procedure-cost page gives no numerical thigh-lift average and says cost varies by surgeon, geography and surgical extent. They stay side by side rather than becoming an average of averages or an inflation-adjusted estimate. If your quote is higher than a headline number, identify what the quote covers before treating the difference as a premium.

What does a thigh lift quote include and leave out?
BeautyMDs posts $7,200 to $9,500 for a thigh lift while excluding medication, laboratory charges, mammogram and garments, and Jiles posts a $6,500 to $8,000 mini thigh lift surgeon fee excluding anesthesia and facility, on two price pages checked October 18, 2026. A headline marked total or all-inclusive still needs its exclusions read. ASPS lists surgeon, anesthesia, facility, testing, garments and prescriptions as possible separate components. Ask the practice to mark each line included, extra or unresolved.

Keep four payment boundaries visible
Name the surgeon, anesthesia provider and facility. Ask what additional operating time or an overnight stay would cost; the packet supplies no standard hourly or nightly charge.
Ask about consultation, tests, prescriptions, garments, routine visits and drain visits. A quoted surgery total does not establish that every item in ASPS’s possible-cost list is included.
The Gillian Institute’s inclusion descriptions conflict on the same page. Its starting price is retained as an advertisement, with no claim that it is a complete bill.
Transport, a helper, lodging and lost earnings need your own amounts. No representative thigh-lift recovery budget was established in the October 2026 patient accounts.
Bitar’s generic thigh-lift schedule includes office visits, operating and surgeon fees, and anesthesia, while allowing additional medications, laboratory work and garments. Chicago Breast and Body Aesthetics’ starting schedule excludes anesthesia. Cosmetic Surgery Associates separately prices local and general anesthesia on its 2026 schedule; the anesthesia choice changes the posted figure within that practice. The Gillian Institute’s main prose adds facility, anesthesia and garments while a final footnote includes them. We preserve that conflict rather than choosing whichever description makes the price look more complete.
“Will you mark every surgeon, facility, anesthesia, test, garment, medication and follow-up line as included or extra?”

How much does an inner thigh lift cost?
Inner thigh lift cost postings span a $2,215 center component at The Orthopaedic Surgery Center to a $22,800 comprehensive-surgery endpoint at Patronella Plastic Surgery among 22 eligible medial observations checked October 18, 2026. The center expressly excludes the surgeon’s fee and does not separately resolve anesthesia. Patronella describes surgeon, anesthesia and facility within its comprehensive fee. These are endpoints of differently composed advertisements, not interchangeable complete bills or a likely personal spending range.
A medial label identifies the inner-thigh region; it does not make all groin and extended operations equivalent. The separate extended chapter keeps explicitly vertical prices out of the medial calculation. Bitar’s inner-thigh floor and generic schedule differ in scope, so the generic schedule cannot replace its inner-thigh figure. Hughes posts two different groin-incision ranges on its financing and procedure pages. Both appear here, labelled as conflicting and excluded from the spread, because no visible fee-effective date settles which figure applies. The drawing shows incision concepts, not a prediction that a groin-only incision will address your skin or stay in a particular position.
“Does my inner thigh lift quote cover only the groin region or a longer incision, and which fees sit outside it?”
Price the actual operation
How much does an extended or vertical thigh lift cost?
Nidia de Jesus posts $8,000 to $12,000 for vertical thigh lift surgery with an all-inclusive treatment package, while Minneapolis Plastic Surgery describes $20,000 or more as an illustrative vertical-incision total, among 7 eligible extended-medial observations checked October 18, 2026. Minneapolis’s open example is neither a maximum bill nor a promised minimum. Jiles’ full-thigh range is surgeon-only, so it cannot be read as a less expensive version of those complete packages without adding the missing billers.
The word full does not supply a standardized operation. Jiles’ operative description establishes vertical work; that is why its full-thigh price is classified here. Kayan, Fortes and Basner have separate named medial and extended observations, while Hughes’ extended prices conflict between pages just as its groin prices do. The two Hughes ranges are shown together and excluded from the eligible endpoints. The scar-position drawing illustrates why the incision plan matters to the decision; a price cannot tell you how a scar will heal or whether it will move.
“What additional skin would the vertical thigh-lift incision address, and how does that change my complete quote?”

How much does a mini thigh lift cost?
Jiles posts a $6,500 to $8,000 mini thigh lift surgeon fee, Vado posts $6,670 to $8,450 as a total-cost estimate, and Seattle Plastic Surgery posts a $7,995 starting figure with inclusions unstated, across three eligible own-fee mini observations checked October 18, 2026. Those different fee bases prevent a direct total-price comparison. The word mini does not by itself identify the amount of skin removed, incision length or anesthesia arrangement.

Ask the surgeon to describe what mini means in that practice and what it would leave untreated. Vado’s total language is stronger than a surgeon-only heading, but a personal quote still needs exclusions and follow-up terms. Seattle’s shared schedule is counted once rather than turning matching pages or locations into independent offers. Bailey’s separate mini range is an area description, not its own charge; it appears in the market-wording comparison so the difference is visible. There is no mini-specific patient-payment distribution in this packet.

How much do outer thigh lift and spiral thigh lift cost?
Nesmith posts $8,000 to $10,500 for outer thigh lift with fee inclusions unstated, while the two eligible spiral observations are Sukkar’s $15,000 starting figure and Patronella’s $24,800 to $29,800 comprehensive range, checked October 18, 2026. The one outer-thigh observation and two spiral observations remain separate datasets. Patronella explicitly describes inner thighs, outer thighs, hips and flanks, so its spiral price cannot stand in for an isolated medial lift.

Outer, lateral, spiral and circumferential labels can overlap with lower-body procedures, but the priced operation must come from the actual source. Sukkar’s starting figure gives no upper limit or established fee inclusions. Nesmith’s single observation gives no basis for a national outer-thigh price distribution. Ask the surgeon to mark the proposed incisions on front and back views and identify every region included. If the recommendation is a body lift, use the body-lift guide for that operation rather than adding unrelated thigh figures together.
“Which inner-thigh, outer-thigh, hip, flank or buttock regions are included in this specific thigh-lift quote?”

How much does a thigh lift with liposuction or other surgery cost?
DiBello posts $9,800 for thigh lift with liposuction, inclusions unstated, while Neaman posts $23,000 to $30,000 for thigh and arm lift together based on PatientFi pricing, in combination pages checked October 18, 2026. These are different scopes and different payment contexts. Neither is an isolated inner-thigh fee, and Neaman’s financed range must not be relabelled as cash pricing. A package total also cannot reveal the incremental cost of adding each operation.
Molina’s $25,000 starting figure belongs with liposuction because its description explicitly combines liposuction and skin excision. Its open floor supplies no maximum or complete fee basis. Likewise, Patronella’s reduced medial fee when combined is a component rather than a complete combined-operation bill; it cannot be used to infer the package’s savings without the other components. The structure drawing names lymphatic structures that sources describe as relevant to thigh surgery. Ask for a staged and a combined plan only when the surgeon considers both appropriate, with a complete quote and recovery plan for each.
“Which thigh-lift and liposuction or other-procedure components are included, and what would a staged plan cost in full?”

How much does thigh lift cost by city?
The October 18, 2026 price check found 88 eligible observations labelled thigh lift without a stated technique, including Georgia Plastic’s $16,000 to $18,000 Atlanta-area estimate and La Jolla Cosmetic’s $16,000 to $20,000 San Diego range. These two top-ups are examples, not city averages. La Jolla’s linked service includes buttock lift; isolated thigh-only scope is not established. How much does a thigh lift cost in Utah?
University of Utah Health posts an $8,775 thighlift estimate in Salt Lake City, and Peak Plastic Surgery posts $8,000 to $12,000 in its Draper pricing section, across two retained Utah observations checked October 18, 2026. These do not establish a Utah market range or an all-in, isolated thigh-only bill. The university’s table states no technique or fee inclusions. Peak’s page interchanges thighplasty, body lift and belt lipectomy, so its operative extent remains unresolved and its price is excluded from the comparable spread.

Does insurance cover thigh lift after weight loss?
Cigna’s redundant-skin policy 0470, effective September 15, 2026, provides a conditional path for thigh lift only when the service is a plan benefit and all applicable criteria are met; Aetna CPB 0031, reviewed June 25, 2026, lists thighplasty as cosmetic. Losing weight or having rubbing skin does not by itself establish coverage. Cigna requires a severe functional deficit, expected improvement, interference with daily activities, documentation and qualifying persistent nonfacial skin disease refractory to at least three months of management, plus applicable weight-loss criteria.
Commercial policies keep their own wording
“Coverage for redundant skin surgery varies across plans.” All base criteria apply when benefits exist. After significant weight loss, six-month stability plus one pathway applies; bariatric surgery adds at least eighteen months. Checked October 18, 2026.
Cosmetic list includes “Excision of excessive skin of thigh (thigh lift, thighplasty),” Separate CPB 0211, reviewed August 18, 2026, has diagnosis-specific lipedema/lymphedema provisions. These cannot be transferred to ordinary skin laxity.
The cosmetic code list names “Excision, excessive skin and subcutaneous tissue (includes lipectomy); thigh” under 15832. The general reconstructive section does not overturn that classification. Benefits and applicable law govern.
“Specific member contract language has precedence over medical policy”. Functional impairment may be considered if exclusions do not apply. Its code list is not a thigh-specific eligibility checklist. Read the full contract.
Cigna’s weight-loss rule requires at least six months of stable weight plus one applicable pathway. After bariatric surgery, at least eighteen months must also have elapsed; the GLP-1 pathway can allow stability during therapy or after discontinuation. This is a benefit rule, not medication advice. Sensitive-area documentation can substitute for photographs under its policy. UHC commercial MP.007.33, effective June 1, 2026, explicitly classifies code 15832 as cosmetic despite having general reconstructive criteria. Regence Surgery 12, effective September 1, 2026, makes the member contract controlling and conditionally addresses functional impairment; listing the thigh code is not an approval. Aetna’s separate CPB 0211 lipedema/lymphedema pathways concern particular diagnoses, not generic post-weight-loss skin removal. Ask the billing team to identify your actual plan, proposed procedure and documentation before relying on another patient’s approval. Policy text is not a coverage guarantee.

Does Medicare or Select Health cover thigh lift surgery?
Medicare’s public cosmetic-surgery page usually excludes cosmetic surgery, and Noridian’s current LCD L35163, revision effective October 16, 2025, supplies no thigh-specific approval pathway for Utah, in policies checked October 18, 2026. Noridian serves Utah through jurisdiction JF; its policy also applies in JE. UHC Medicare Advantage MMP022.16, effective September 1, 2026, follows Medicare exclusions and limited exceptions. These policies differ from UHC’s commercial product and cannot be treated as the same coverage decision.
Product, geography and version all matter
“Medicare usually doesn’t cover cosmetic surgery unless you need it because of accidental injury or to improve the function of a malformed body part.” Checked October 18, 2026. This general explanation does not create a thigh-specific benefit.
JE covers CA, NV, HI, AS, GU and MP. JF covers AK, AZ, ID, MT, ND, OR, SD, UT, WA and WY. Its exact concurrent-surgery wording is “benefits will be provided for the covered surgical procedure only.” Current general cosmetic policy; no thigh-specific checklist. Retired L37020 is not the current policy.
“Cosmetic surgery or expenses incurred in connection with such surgery is not covered.” Read the limited exceptions and applicable Medicare guidance. This is not commercial MP.007.33.
Excludes surgery “performed primarily to improve physical appearance through change in bodily form, except repair of accidental injury”. Separately lists “Surgery to correct a functional defect”. Standard/HDHP benefits do not establish all Select Health benefits.
H1994-035-000 says “Covered in cases of an accidental injury or for improvement of the functioning of a malformed body member”. This Colorado product is not evidence of Utah Medicare eligibility.
Identify the member product, service date, proposed thigh procedure and written policy decision. Policy text is not a coverage guarantee. Internal appeal and external review are distinct processes, not evidence that a thigh lift qualifies.
Select Health’s 2026 FEHB Standard/HDHP brochure is a Utah product with cosmetic exclusions, an accidental-injury exception and a separate functional reconstructive benefit. It supplies no explicit thigh-specific checklist and says preauthorization does not establish coverage. Select Health Medicare Active HMO035, H1994-035-000, is a Colorado product for the 2026 benefit year, not a Utah coverage source. A public medical-policy portal alone does not establish either approval or denial for another Select Health plan. Noridian says a concurrent covered operation does not make the cosmetic operation payable, and treatment of a serious complication may be considered separately. Do not transfer abdominal panniculectomy rules to the thigh. If a request is denied, HealthCare.gov distinguishes an internal appeal from independent external review; those rights do not establish eligibility for the operation. Obtain the actual reason and applicable plan process.
“For my Medicare or Select Health product, which exclusion or exception governs the thigh procedure and its possible complication care?”
Plan the payment
Can I finance a thigh lift, and what would monthly payments cost?
A hypothetical $8,775 thigh-lift balance costs $437.66 per month for 24 months at 17.9% APR or $236.90 for 60 months at 20.9% under standard amortization using terms checked October 18, 2026. The principal matches University of Utah Health’s posted estimate, not a verified complete quote or evidence that the university offers either plan. Total repayments are $10,503.84 and $14,213.99. These are arithmetic scenarios, not lender billing schedules, approvals or actual patient borrowing.
Same illustrative balance, two repayment terms
Read the offer before comparing monthly amounts
The longer scenario extends repayment and uses a different APR. Compare interest and total repayment for the same principal, not just the smaller monthly payment.
CFPB describes interest on the outstanding balance in each month since purchase when a promotion fails. Get the deadline and payoff amount from the actual agreement.
The university estimate does not establish financing availability or a complete surgical bill. Underwriting, fees and product-specific calculations belong in the lender’s disclosure.
CareCredit and Alphaeon publish reduced-APR ladders, but their actual payment rules differ from these amortization examples. CareCredit uses posted payment factors and whole-dollar rounding; Alphaeon’s account uses daily balances and prescribed plan payments. Do not promise these exact monthly amounts for either product. CFPB says deferred interest can be charged on each month’s outstanding balance back to purchase if the promotional balance is not cleared by the deadline; more than sixty days’ lateness can also end the promotion. A required minimum may not pay the balance off in time. Before applying, get the complete surgical total, the amount financed, fees, actual APR, payment schedule and total repayment. Keep funds for help, follow-up and missed work separate from a lender’s maximum approval. The shared financing guide explains the product choices without treating a low monthly teaser as the operation’s cost.
“What are the actual thigh-lift financing APR, fees, payoff deadline, final payment and total repayment in my disclosure?”
Keep personal prices in context
What have patients reported paying for thigh lift surgery?
The October 18, 2026 patient-source check retained a Huntersville patient’s $18,000 spiral thighplasty report for 2026 and a Los Angeles patient’s $22,000 combined thigh lift and FDL tummy-tuck report, with December 2025 inferred from the later post. These two patient-reported amounts cover different operations and lack independently verified invoices. The Los Angeles account describes a combined/return-patient discount; its payment cannot price an isolated thigh lift. No patient report enters a practice-posted spread.
Four patient-reported accounts, never a pooled range
$18,000 for spiral thighplasty; component breakdown unstated. One personal account, checked October 18, 2026. Not a practice-posted offer or verified invoice.
$22,000 for thighs plus FDL tummy tuck, with combined/return-patient discount described. The operation date is inferred from the June 2026 post. Not an isolated thigh price.
Approximately $13,000 for extended medial thigh lift; earlier abdominal and arm work described separately. Missing inclusions remain unresolved. Checked October 18, 2026.
$9,000 to $11,000 for thighs, relayed by a patient. The 2026 thread date does not date the quote; city unestablished. Not a paid bill or a practice-posted price.
A Billings account gives approximately $13,000 for extended medial surgery, with the operation year unstated. A Minnesota account relays a $9,000 to $11,000 surgeon quote, not a paid bill, with city and quote year unestablished. LaurasThinspiration’s January 2014 funding video describes inheritance-funded combined contouring and an unaffordable thigh revision without giving a dollar amount, loan term or insurer decision. Her account does not establish that insurance paid for thigh surgery simply because she describes bariatric coverage.
“Which scope, deposit, discount and aftercare differences explain why my thigh-lift quote differs from a patient’s reported payment?”
Budget for care beyond the operation
How much does thigh lift revision or complication care cost?
BeautyMDs explicitly says thigh-lift revisions or touch-ups carry additional facility and doctor fees, while the October 18, 2026 retained price set contains zero separately priced revision observations. That absence does not mean revision is free or establish a standard revision charge. A primary quote and a written aftercare policy answer different questions. Ask which routine visits are included and which wound treatments, scar procedures or repeat operations generate new charges.
Ask for a policy, not an assumed allowance
List included visits, drain checks and garment support. Ask whether follow-up at another location would be billed separately; no standard fee is established here.
Identify who would treat you and who would bill. A payer’s decision about serious complication treatment is separate from coverage of the original cosmetic lift.
BeautyMDs names extra facility and doctor charges for revisions/touch-ups. No separately priced revision observation survives in the retained October 2026 dataset.
Ask how the practice distinguishes correcting the first operation from treating later laxity or a different goal. No fixed lifespan or cost-per-year assumption is used.
The Sisti review covers sixteen studies and 447 patients overall, with heterogeneous techniques and follow-up; its revision results cannot be treated as a uniform US recurrence rate or used to predict that you will pay for another operation. Noridian also distinguishes treatment of a serious complication from payment for the original cosmetic operation; other plans have their own rules. A surgeon’s policy about a reduced professional fee may still leave facility, anesthesia, medication and travel costs. Get the written definitions of routine aftercare, complication care, elective scar treatment and a new contouring operation before you decide how much reserve you need.
“If my thigh lift needs extra wound care or revision, which surgeon, facility and anesthesia charges would I owe under your written policy?”
Bring a complete written plan
What should I ask before paying for a thigh lift?
ASPS names six possible thigh-lift cost components on its page checked October 18, 2026, so a useful consultation quote should resolve surgeon, anesthesia, facility, testing, garments and medication rather than giving you only a headline total. The Aesthetic Society also recommends asking about the surgeon’s thigh-lift experience and where incisions will sit. Add the scope, follow-up, payment conditions and recovery arrangements to your comparison before paying a deposit.
The worksheet keeps the same questions across consultations. If surgeons propose different operations, first record what each operation would treat; a lower total is not informative until the scope and missing fees are clear. Ask when the quote expires, whether a deposit is credited to the total, what cancellation or rescheduling changes, and whether cash and financed totals differ. The packet supplies no universal deposit percentage or refund window. Recovery also affects the budget. ASPS’s 2023 brochure places daily activities at weeks four to five and exercise from week six onward, but that is general education rather than clearance or a measured recovery distribution. Arrange help and work plans around your own surgeon’s instructions instead of borrowing another patient’s schedule.
“Can we review this complete thigh-lift quote, recovery budget and payment agreement together before I pay a deposit?”

Where these thigh lift prices come from
Practice pages and policy versions were checked October 18, 2026. Patient-source questions about scope, total bills, insurance, later care and self-payment shaped the chapters. Sources are linked below.
Posted prices and scope
221 KEEP/FIX observations include four verified city top-ups. This page draws 38 distinct price observations and uses other eligible medial and unspecified observations in the opening. The one dropped Fiala observation supplies no price. Nine scope labels remain separate; none is combined into a national thigh-lift range.
Middle half of advertisements
One lowest eligible own-fee figure per practice hostname, within one scope, supplies nearest-rank quartiles. Duplicates, market descriptions, unresolved conflicting observations and Peak’s unresolved operation are excluded. Mixed fee bases remain explicit. These are advertised starting points, not a representative sample of patient bills.
Dates and exclusions
An access date is not a fee-effective date. Most practice pages do not date their fee content. Open ranges remain floors; contrasting fee statements remain unresolved. Named endpoints retain the source’s components. No credential or surgeon ranking is inferred from a price.
Benchmarks and policies
ASPS states no statistic year for its headline. CareCredit’s March 2025 article cites research in 2024. Each insurance product retains its own policy and effective or review date; abdominal criteria do not transfer to the thigh. Policy text is not a coverage guarantee.
Patient accounts and media
Four selected written patient-reported amounts stay outside posted statistics. Accounts are not authenticated invoices or insurer decisions. The voice corpus has incomplete comment-tree access, so source counts never become event rates. One selected funding video renders only after Mux publication through playableIds. Its historical combined surgery does not price current thigh surgery.
Loan arithmetic
Two illustrative loans use the university estimate as principal and verified APR examples. Standard amortization recomputes monthly payment and total independently to cents, with an adjusted final payment. Actual card payment factors and daily-balance billing differ. No product availability, eligibility or patient borrowing history is inferred.
