  15. What extra costs should I budget for after a breast lift?Mayo’s November 22, 2025 breast lift instructions describe a surgical bra for three to four days followed by soft support for three to four weeks, while Utah’s lift page checked October 17, 2026 limits arm activity and driving for two to three weeks.
  16. What should I ask before paying for a breast lift?ASPS’s breast lift cost page checked October 17, 2026 says experience, procedure and geography affect the surgeon fee; Guerra’s single retained $16,900 to $22,900 bundle cannot isolate lift alone because implants or scaffolding may apply.

Benchmarks answer different questions

ASPS · $6,816

average cost of a breast lift (mastopexy) is $6,816 latest statistics; no data year supplied on page. Only part of total; excludes anesthesia, OR and related expenses.

The Aesthetic Society · $5,324

Original 2022 Databank surgeon-fee table. The patient page instead says surgeon and facility fees; that conflict does not establish an all-in price.

CareCredit (lender context) · $7,792; $5,189–$13,513

The national average cost of a breast lift is $7,792, but it can range from $5,189 to $13,513. Article October2,2026; ASQ360 study2025–2026. Regular surgical breast lift lender estimate; fee basis not stated, in-office visit may cost extra; not a practice quote..

The lowest endpoint is Dr. K Miami Plastic Surgery’s approximate price-list range with complete inclusions unstated; the highest is Henry A. Mentz’s range including surgical time, anesthesia and facility. Neither tells you what you would pay after examination. It contains no denominator of completed operations, invoices or people who paid within each range. A floor stays open above that amount. The Aesthetic Society’s original 2022 Databank labels its $5,324 mastopexy figure a surgeon fee. Its patient page calls that figure surgeon and facility fees; the original table controls our description and the disagreement remains visible. CareCredit’s October 2, 2026 article says “The national average cost of a breast lift is $7,792, but it can range from $5,189 to $13,513.” from its 2025–2026 ASQ360 study, with complete fee basis and sample size unstated here. These are separate benchmarks, not additional practice observations. Don’t add or average them into the posted sample.

Ask your surgeon

“What is my complete breast lift price for the operation you recommend, and how does its scope differ from these posted lift-only fees?”

Breast lift cost

What does a breast lift quote include?

ASPS lists surgeon, anesthesia, facility, medical tests, garments and prescriptions among possible breast lift costs on its page checked October 17, 2026; John Burns’s single Dallas lift-only observation is about $8,750 with surgeon, operating room and anesthesiologist included.

Get each part in writing

  1. Operation

    • SurgeonNamed operation and extent
    • AnesthesiaProvider, method and time allowance
    • FacilityLocation, operating time and extra-time policy
  2. Around surgery

    • Tests and prescriptionsWho orders and bills them
    • GarmentsIncluded bra, replacements and fitting
    • Follow-upVisits included; treatment and revision terms separate

An inclusion list matters more than the word package. The Burns figure is one practice’s own estimate, not a budget for every patient. Village Plastic Surgery’s fat-graft lift schedule is surgeon-only, so its lower-looking line leaves facility and anesthesia extra. Dr Jiles’s GalaFLEX page has contradictory inclusion statements; its prose and price card don’t resolve the total. Those three examples cannot be compared as though each bought the same operation and services. Ask for a written list that names the surgeon’s work, where surgery happens, who provides anesthesia and how much operating time the quote allows. Then ask about preoperative testing, prescriptions and the bra. Follow-up needs its own line even when the amount is included in a package. Find out which scheduled visits are covered, whether visits have an end date, and who bills for treatment outside routine follow-up. A statement that visits are included does not establish free scar procedures, a replacement implant or a return to the operating room.

Ask your surgeon

“Can you itemize the surgeon, anesthesia, facility, garments, tests, prescriptions and follow-up, and identify every separate bill?”

Breast lift cost

Does the breast lift incision pattern change the cost?

Cosmetic Surgery Associates posts two distinct breast lift technique fees, $7,425 concentric and $13,350 standard, both all-in, on its schedule checked October 17, 2026; those practice labels do not establish a universal price for each scar pattern.

John Tyrone’s Gainesville schedule also separates vertical from full mastopexy, with starting floors of $6,100 and $8,100. Its full label does not establish an anchor incision. Tim Sayed’s crescent and anchor examples describe a Southern California market comparison rather than two of his own fees. They are labelled that way in the figure and excluded from the opening calculation. This distinction matters when a search result gives an apparently simple price for a small lift. ASPS says selection depends on breast size and shape, areolas, sagging and skin quality. The Aesthetic Society associates a donut incision with mild sagging or asymmetric areolas, a lollipop with moderate sagging without implants, and an anchor with severe sagging or concurrent reduction and more scars. It describes the crescent as less common and more limited in lifting. ASPS says scars are permanent. Ask the surgeon to draw the proposed pattern on a consultation diagram and explain the tissue work underneath it.

Ask your surgeon

“Which breast lift incision and tissue work are you pricing for me, and what would change both the scar pattern and the fee?”

How much does a breast lift with implants cost?

William Jacobsen’s two Phoenix all-inclusive vertical breast lift lines are $8,580 without implants and $10,880 with gel implants, checked October 17, 2026; implant-lift prices belong to their own scope and never set the lift-only opening.

It does not show what adding an implant would cost at a different practice. John Tyrone’s own vertical lines start at $6,100 without implants and $12,525 with implants, including surgeon, anesthesia and surgical suite. Village Plastic Surgery instead publishes an implant-lift surgeon fee, while Sadrian posts an all-in implant-lift range. Read those fee labels before treating a lower number as a less expensive complete plan. Ask whether the recommendation is a lift alone, a combined operation or planned stages, and request the costs for each stage that is actually proposed. A planned later operation needs its own quote and recovery plan; it should not be counted as an unplanned complication. FDA says breast implants are not lifetime devices. We cover device decisions in the augmentation and revision guides, and the separate implant-lift cost page carries the larger combined-price sample.

Ask your surgeon

“Why does my breast lift plan need implants, and can you quote lift alone, the combined plan and any planned stages separately?”

How much does a breast lift with fat transfer cost?

Élevé’s own fat-transfer lift estimate includes surgeon, office visits, operating room and anesthesia; Memorial’s posted starting floor includes surgeon, anesthesia, operating room and follow-up. None of these observations belongs in the lift-only quartiles. A quotation should identify both the reshaping operation and the donor-site work, including which areas are priced. Village’s row explicitly varies with the amount of fat and liposuction, so its range cannot be treated as a flat surcharge added to any other practice’s lift fee. Ask what change each is intended to make in your case and what the quoted session covers. If the surgeon discusses another session, request a separate estimate rather than assuming it is included in the first payment. The posted packet does not establish a standard number of sessions, a universal retained-volume percentage or a nationwide add-on fee. Your quote should state what happens if the planned amount or donor-site work changes.

Ask your surgeon

“Which donor areas and fat-transfer work are included with my breast lift, and how would an additional session be billed?”

How much does an internal bra add to a breast lift?

Sean Doherty posts about $2,000 to $3,000 as an additional GalaFLEX charge, while Basu posts a complete internal-bra breast lift starting at $25,200, checked October 17, 2026; a support component and a whole operation are different prices.

Fortes’s internal-bra floor and Careaga’s internal-bra line are adjunct components, not complete lift totals. CosmeticSurg’s matrix package includes a lift, silicone implants and support together. Its amount cannot be called the price of mesh alone or put in the lift-only sample. Ask for the exact product name and whether the fee is an addition to another quoted operation. Don’t subtract unrelated practices’ package prices to invent a mesh surcharge. FDA’s November 9, 2023 communication says no surgical mesh product is cleared or approved for breast surgery, and breast-surgery safety and effectiveness have not been determined by FDA. General soft-tissue clearance does not establish clearance for a breast lift. FDA does not recommend removal in asymptomatic patients solely because of that labeling communication. Internal bra also is not one uniform product or proof that a lift will resist future sagging. Ask what evidence supports the particular device and operation proposed, what alternatives exist, and how any device-related treatment would be billed.

Ask your surgeon

“What exact support product are you proposing for my breast lift, why, and which extra device and treatment costs would I accept?”

Is a breast lift with reduction priced the same as a lift?

Gartner posts one breast lift-and-reduction range of $12,000 to $13,000, while Evergreen posts a shared lift-or-reduction range of $12,500 to $15,000, checked October 17, 2026; neither isolates a lift-only fee.

ASPS directs people seeking smaller breasts to discuss lift with reduction. The written plan needs to explain the intended size change and tissue removal rather than relying on the shared word lift. A reduction quote is not automatically evidence of an insurance-covered operation. Medical-necessity criteria, documentation and the member’s benefits require their own review. Other combined surgery changes the scope again. Moskovitz’s schedule prices a tummy tuck with mastopexy without implants separately from a tummy tuck with augmentation-mastopexy. These packages appear in the figure as other-surgery observations, never as reduced-cost standalone lifts. York Yates’s Utah mommy-makeover row includes augmentation, lift and tummy tuck, with optional liposuction. If you are considering multiple operations, request the names, inclusions, planned stages and recovery restrictions for the whole proposal. This packet supplies no universal bundle discount or arithmetic that can safely allocate a combined bill between breasts and abdomen.

Ask your surgeon

“Is my breast lift quote actually for reduction or another combined operation, and can you separate each proposed procedure and its coverage decision?”

Those two revision observations describe different operations. One removes implants with a lift; the other revises augmentation and includes implants in an all-fees price. They cannot establish an ordinary revision surcharge, a personal minimum or an upper bill for every patient. Revision is kept apart from primary lift-only and primary implant-lift pricing throughout this guide. Ask whether removal, replacement, capsule work, support material, asymmetry correction or scar treatment is included in your particular plan. FDA’s reminder that implants are not lifetime devices makes future costs worth discussing even when you are currently deciding about a first operation. A practice’s revision policy also deserves a separate reading: a waived surgeon fee, if offered, would not by itself establish waived anesthesia, facility, device or medication bills. Bring prior operative records and the available device information to the consultation so that the surgeon can explain exactly what is being priced.

Ask your surgeon

“What removal, replacement, capsule, support and lift work does my revision quote include, and which later bills could remain?”

ASPS says surgeon fees vary with experience, procedure and office geography. This five-row selection lacks a representative denominator of local practices and completed bills. Dr. K’s approximate named price list has unstated complete inclusions. Burns, Central Park, JL and Pin publish all-in statements, with the specific services described in each row. Use the linked advertisements to check how a practice describes its own scope and fee basis. Keep a city in its verified location: a suburb’s price should not be silently relabelled as a downtown observation, and one practice with shared offices is still one posted fee rather than independent city samples. When comparing a local consultation with another metro, request the same operation and inclusion list from both. Travel, time away and arrangements for follow-up need their own real estimates. The research does not supply a domestic travel allowance, a cost-of-living adjustment or a ranking of cities by value.

Those are three practices’ own lift-only observations. Their inclusions differ. University of Utah’s asterisk and the written consultation terms still need review; the posted range alone does not establish a total. Aesthetica explicitly includes surgeon, operating room and anesthesia. York Yates’s complete inclusions are unstated in the retained fee row. Orem and Draper also appear in the research, but Rose Clinic’s $6,000 to $10,000 and Peak’s $5,000 to $10,000 describe market pricing rather than their own surgical fees. They stay out of the practice-starting-point calculation. The Utah figure also shows Yates’s implant-lift and mommy-makeover lines and Aesthetica’s implant-lift floor in separate scope figures. They cannot extend the lift-only range. Duplicate Yates pages are counted once; neither a second URL nor another procedure creates another independent lift-only practice. Ask each office for the operating location, anesthesia biller, bra and follow-up terms before comparing totals.

Ask your surgeon

“Which Utah breast lift figure applies to my actual scope, and does the written total include surgeon, facility, anesthesia, garments and follow-up?”

Breast lift cost

Does insurance cover a breast lift?

A cosmetic breast lift is not covered under the cosmetic exclusions described by Aetna, Cigna, UHC and Anthem; their policies checked October 17, 2026 retain specific reconstructive exceptions rather than a benefit for ordinary postpregnancy sagging.

Payer-specific exceptions, checked October 17, 2026

Aetna CPB 0185 · reviewed April 22, 2026

Qualifying significant deformity after medically necessary mastectomy/lumpectomy. Named reconstructive branches also include qualifying severe fibrocystic disease and trauma. Member benefit description controls.

Cigna 0178 · effective April 15, 2026

Mastopexy among affected/contralateral reconstructive procedures. Cancer diagnosis is not required; timing alone is not limiting. Member benefit document supersedes conflicting policy information.

UHC MP.003.29 · effective January 1, 2026

WHCRA symmetry and selected reconstructive indications; possible premastectomy lift to preserve nipple viability. Full InterQual criteria were not retrieved. Cosmetic unrelated enhancement is excluded.

Anthem SURG.00023 · published July 1, 2026

Mastopexy is cosmetic except as part of covered reconstruction. Contract and plan adoption control.

BCBSM/BCN 76905 · effective May 1, 2026

Product-specific excess-skin branch permits reconstructive consideration for documented functional problems unresponsive to conventional treatment. Appearance changes alone remain cosmetic.

Aetna CPB 0185 includes mastopexy for qualifying significant deformity after medically necessary mastectomy or lumpectomy and named other reconstructive indications. Cigna 0178 includes affected or contralateral reconstructive procedures; cancer is not required and timing alone is not limiting. UHC MP.003.29 includes qualifying symmetry and selected reconstructive branches, including a possible premastectomy lift to preserve nipple viability. Its full proprietary InterQual thresholds were not retrieved. Anthem treats mastopexy as cosmetic except as part of covered reconstruction. The Department of Labor explains that WHCRA symmetry benefits attach to qualifying mastectomy coverage and are not limited to cancer; comparable deductibles and coinsurance may apply and some plan exceptions exist. CMS NCD 140.2 describes reconstruction after medically necessary removal for any medical reason and excludes cosmetic reconstruction. BCBSM/BCN’s product-specific excess-skin branch permits reconstructive consideration for documented functional problems unresponsive to conventional therapy. That wording cannot be generalized into coverage for all weight-loss lifts. Ask the payer to identify the member product, operative indication, documentation, authorization and cost sharing. Policy text is not a coverage guarantee.

Ask your surgeon

“If you think my breast lift is reconstructive, which exact policy branch and member benefit apply, and what written authorization is required?”

Breast lift cost

Does Utah insurance cover a breast lift after weight loss?

Regence Surgery 40, effective October 1, 2026, treats breast lift as cosmetic unless its qualifying reconstruction criteria are met, and Noridian L35163 excludes appearance-only ptosis or reshaping in Utah; weight loss alone does not establish either benefit.

Utah requires the actual product and contract

Regence Surgery 40 · effective October 1, 2026

Qualifying physician-recommended reconstruction of a diseased/injured breast and unaffected-breast symmetry. Partial mastectomy/lumpectomy included. Member contract controls.

SelectHealth commercial bulletin · September 2026

Policies 172/220 entries dated July 29 add mastopexy for nipple-sparing prophylactic mastectomy meeting medical criteria. Full policies and implementation date were not independently confirmed.

PEHP · 2026–2027 State master contract

Reconstructive symmetry and written preauthorization. Employer-group terms vary. Its fat-transfer exclusion differs from the qualified exception in the clinical policy; resolve the actual benefit in writing.

UUHP · 2026 individual Exchange EPO only

Qualifying mastectomy reconstruction and other-breast symmetry, with ordinary cost sharing. Initial reconstructive modifications and later changes after reasonable symmetry/stability have different clauses.

Noridian L35163 R8 · revised October 16, 2025

JF includes AK, AZ, ID, MT, ND, OR, SD, UT, WA, WY; JE includes CA, HI, NV, AS, GU, MP. Appearance-only ptosis/reshaping is excluded. Only covered components receive benefits when cosmetic and covered surgery share an operative period.

Regence permits physician-recommended qualifying diseased or injured breast reconstruction and unaffected-breast symmetry, including partial mastectomy or lumpectomy, subject to the member contract. SelectHealth’s September 2026 commercial bulletin adds mastopexy for qualifying nipple-sparing prophylactic mastectomy in policies 172 and 220. The full live policies and implementation date were not independently confirmed, so the bulletin cannot stand in for complete approval criteria. PEHP’s cosmetic policy cross-refers reconstructive exceptions and varies by employer group. The 2026–2027 State master contract requires written preauthorization, includes qualifying symmetry and excludes reconstructive fat transfer; the clinical policy’s qualified fat exception and that exclusion need reconciliation for the actual benefit. UUHP’s 2026 individual Exchange EPO covers qualifying reconstruction and opposite-breast symmetry with ordinary cost sharing. It distinguishes initial reconstructive modifications from later changes after reasonable symmetry and stability. Those clauses cannot be applied to every UUHP product. Noridian’s JF jurisdiction includes Utah and the other states printed in the figure; its mixed-surgery rule pays only covered components. A paid reduction branch does not automatically cover a cosmetic lift. Policy text is not a coverage guarantee.

Ask your surgeon

“Which Utah plan, employer contract and reconstruction criterion apply to my breast lift, and can the insurer confirm the covered and cosmetic portions in writing?”

Breast lift cost

Can I finance a breast lift, and what would monthly payments cost?

Financing a $7,275 breast lift principal over 24 months at an illustrative 17.9% APR gives $362.85 monthly and $8,708.31 total, using the saved October 2026 Alphaeon agreement and University of Utah’s posted range floor; this is not a lender offer.

One principal, four illustrative repayment schedules

24 months · 17.9% APR

$7,275.00 principal; $362.85 monthly; $8,708.31 total; $1,433.31 interest. After 23 rounded payments, final payment $362.76. Saved October 2026 Alphaeon terms; illustration only.

36 months · 18.9% APR

$7,275.00 principal; $266.30 monthly; $9,586.98 total; $2,311.98 interest. After 35 rounded payments, final payment $266.48. Saved October 2026 Alphaeon terms; illustration only.

48 months · 19.9% APR

$7,275.00 principal; $220.99 monthly; $10,607.69 total; $3,332.69 interest. After 47 rounded payments, final payment $221.16. Saved October 2026 Alphaeon terms; illustration only.

60 months · 20.9% APR

$7,275.00 principal; $196.40 monthly; $11,784.25 total; $4,509.25 interest. After 59 rounded payments, final payment $196.65. Saved October 2026 Alphaeon terms; illustration only.

The four schedules use the same principal and recompute a fixed-payment amortization formula. The 60-month illustration uses 20.9% APR, with $196.40 monthly, $11,784.25 total and $4,509.25 interest. Totals use the unrounded payment before rounding to cents; the final payment reconciles the rounded installments. These examples exclude fees and down payments. The Alphaeon live agreement was blocked, so the saved agreement supplies the illustration’s rates. The calculation is not actual revolving-card billing, an approval prediction, proof University of Utah accepts the product or proof the posted cash price can be financed unchanged. CFPB warns that medical credit products differ in acceptance, eligibility, APR, fees and repayment schedules. Deferred-interest promotions require particular care because missed payoff conditions can lead to interest on the original balance. Ask for the lender’s current agreement and the exact deadline, not just a monthly teaser. The shared cosmetic-surgery financing guide explains the loan types and payoff questions in more depth.

Ask your surgeon

“What are the financed breast lift price, APR, fees, total repayment and promotional payoff conditions in the actual contract I would sign?”

What extra costs should I budget for after a breast lift?

Mayo’s November 22, 2025 breast lift instructions describe a surgical bra for three to four days followed by soft support for three to four weeks, while Utah’s lift page checked October 17, 2026 limits arm activity and driving for two to three weeks.

The recovery budget sits beside the surgical quote

Garments

Mayo’s November 22, 2025 instructions describe a surgical bra for three to four days, then soft support for three to four weeks. Ask which garments your fee supplies.

Help and transport

Utah’s lift page, checked October 17, 2026, limits arm activity and driving for two to three weeks. Arrange rides and help around your own written restrictions.

Follow-up and extra treatment

Ask which visits, dressings, scar treatments and return-to-operating-room bills are included. No universal extra-care allowance is established by this packet.

Those are two sources’ instructions, not a measured recovery distribution or a universal time off work. They identify practical budget questions about garments, rides and help. Ask which bra your fee supplies, whether you need another, and when your own surgeon permits driving and lifting. If your work, childcare or household duties depend on those activities, use the written restrictions to arrange coverage. Don’t infer unrestricted activity from a desk-work return date or buy a recovery package based on another patient’s calendar. The packet does not establish a standard dollar allowance for unpaid time, childcare, transport, lodging or scar care, so this chapter supplies no invented total. Get actual estimates for the help you need and keep them beside the operation quote. Follow-up visits may be included while prescriptions, additional dressings, scar treatments or another procedure follow different terms. Ask where urgent questions go and which bills could arise if care changes.

Ask your surgeon

“What help, garments, transport and follow-up should I arrange for my breast lift, and which of those costs are included?”

What should I ask before paying for a breast lift?

ASPS’s breast lift cost page checked October 17, 2026 says experience, procedure and geography affect the surgeon fee; Guerra’s single retained $16,900 to $22,900 bundle cannot isolate lift alone because implants or scaffolding may apply.

An ambiguous bundle cannot price lift alone

Bring the same questions to each practice

Name the scope

Lift only, implant-lift, fat, support, reduction/other surgery or revision. State incision pattern, devices and any staged operation.

Name every biller

Surgeon, anesthesia and facility. Write down garments, tests, prescriptions, follow-up, extra operating time and revision terms.

Check the payment contract

Quote expiry, deposit, cancellation, rescheduling, financed price, APR, fees and payoff deadline. Request the terms before making a payment.

The Guerra example shows why the name breast lift is not enough to compare two offers. Its page describes anchor lifting but discusses with-or-without-implant pricing, so the row stays in technique-not-stated scope instead of silently extending the lift-only spread. Ask each office to write the complete operation in the quote and identify what could change after examination. The scar diagram, implant decision and inclusion sheet should describe the same plan. Before paying a deposit, request the payment, cancellation, rescheduling and quote-expiry terms that apply to your case. Ask what changes the bill if operating time increases, the scope changes or a later stage is planned. For financing, keep the lender’s current agreement beside the surgery contract so that the principal and purchase match. Bring your questions about photographs to the consultation too: the before-and-after gallery can help you explain what you mean, but images do not establish which procedure or fee applies to you.

Ask your surgeon

“Can you give me one written breast lift plan with its scope, complete price, billers, payment terms and policy for later treatment?”

How we researched breast lift cost

Research checked October 17, 2026 separates practices’ own advertisements, market descriptions, benchmarks, patient reports and loan illustrations. Every source below links to its public page.

A posted sample

266 retained price observations; the opening uses 96 eligible lift-only observations from 91 practice websites. Lowest eligible own fee per normalized hostname, then nearest-rank quartiles. No completed-bill denominator or representative national sample.

Keep the scope

Implants, fat transfer, support, reduction or other surgery, revision and uncertain technique stay separate. Corrected locations, fee bases and open starting floors travel with each displayed price. Duplicate observations count once.

Limits that matter

The ASPS statistical year and sample size are unstated. The Aesthetic Society original 2022 surgeon-fee table controls despite conflicting patient-page wording. Patient reports are self-selected; original threads were not verified with every comment.

Financing and media

Loan illustrations recompute the saved lender terms with a reconciled final payment. Alphaeon live terms were blocked. Historical video prices are dated practice or patient statements and do not set current spreads. Current contracts govern repayment terms.
