The answer

What is included in a mommy makeover?

A mommy makeover can include a tummy tuck with breast augmentation, a breast lift, breast reduction or a selected combination, sometimes with liposuction or other procedures. ASPS describes a customizable group of operations after childbearing, so the name alone does not tell you what your package includes. Ask for every operation and treatment area in writing.

Possible parts, chosen separately

Breasts

Lift, augmentation, reduction or a selected combination.

Abdomen

Discuss the extent of tummy tuck and whether repair is proposed.

Other areas

Liposuction and labiaplasty are possible additions, not automatic inclusions.

ASPS lists possible components. The body map links to the separate procedure guides.

Start with the areas you want to change, then ask which operation addresses each goal. ASPS lists possible breast, abdominal, waist, genital and buttock procedures; that list does not mean every person needs all of them. The Aesthetic Society also describes different breast and abdominal combinations. University of Utah Health lists tummy tuck, augmentation, lift, reduction and liposuction as choices selected for the patient’s goals. A friend’s operation list or a practice’s package name cannot define your own. The body map below is a way to identify components and open their separate guides, rather than an illustration of what you should have done. Keep the written operation list beside any quote so you can see when a price refers to a different combination.

Ask your surgeon

“Which exact operations and treatment areas are included in my proposed mommy makeover?”

The components

Does a mommy makeover include implants or a breast lift?

A mommy makeover does not automatically include implants or a breast lift. The Aesthetic Society describes a lift with optional augmentation or reduction according to the desired size and shape, and augmentation can use implants or fat grafting. Ask the surgeon to name the breast operation rather than writing only breast surgery on the proposal.

Name the breast operation

Lift

Discuss shape and position.

Augmentation

Ask whether the proposal uses implants or fat grafting.

Reduction

Discuss the desired smaller size and shape.

Lift with augmentation

Ask why both changes are proposed.

The Aesthetic Society describes these as different choices.

Lift, augmentation and reduction are distinct choices even when the practice offers them under the same package heading. The question is what change you want and why the proposed operation fits that change. If the plan includes a lift with implants, ask the surgeon to explain the reason for both components and how the resulting scar plan differs. If fat grafting is proposed, have that named explicitly rather than assuming every augmentation means an implant. The Aesthetic Society also says implants may require replacement over time; it does not give a fixed replacement interval. That future possibility belongs in your decision about what to include now. Use the separate breast guides for technique and device questions instead of choosing an operation from the package title.

Ask your surgeon

“Is my breast plan a lift, augmentation, reduction or a combination, and why does each part fit my goals?”

The components

Does every mommy makeover include a full tummy tuck?

The term mommy makeover does not establish that a full tummy tuck or muscle repair is included. ASPS lists tummy tuck as a possible component, while the Aesthetic Society describes fascial tightening within its abdominal operation. The surgeon needs to specify the abdominal procedure and any proposed repair in your plan.

Write the abdominal scope

Skin and contour

Which abdominal operation and extent are proposed?

Fascial repair

Is tightening included, and what finding supports it?

Liposuction

Which areas are separate from the tummy tuck?

The Aesthetic Society describes fascial tightening in its tummy-tuck component. ASPS lists liposuction separately.

Ask whether the abdominal proposal is a full tummy tuck, a more limited operation or another approach, and what that choice is intended to change. Do not treat the words abdominal contouring as a complete description. Stanford describes tummy tuck with breast augmentation as its traditional standard while also listing other combinations; that local definition is not a rule for all practices. Liposuction also appears separately in ASPS’s component list. A quote that mentions it should name the treatment areas rather than leave you to infer that it covers the whole waist. The full and mini tummy tuck guides explain their different scopes. This page’s job is to help you find out which scope your package actually contains, without repeating the component’s surgical chapters.

Ask your surgeon

“Which tummy-tuck extent and fascial repair, if any, are included, and which goals would remain untreated?”

The components

Are liposuction and labiaplasty included in a mommy makeover?

Liposuction and labiaplasty can be mommy makeover components, but ASPS does not call them mandatory inclusions. Their presence in a practice’s menu does not establish that they are in your operation or price. Ask for the procedure name and, for liposuction, the specific areas being treated.

An option is not an obligation

Liposuction

Name each treatment area rather than assuming waist work is included.

Labiaplasty

Discuss this separately if it addresses a goal you have.

No added procedure

Ask which goals can be addressed by the selected breast and abdominal work.

ASPS’s list is a menu of possibilities, not a required bundle.

Separate a procedure you are considering from a procedure already included in the written proposal. That distinction matters when a consultation discusses several possible goals and the final quote uses a shorter package name. Ask the surgeon which components they recommend, which are optional and which they would leave for another discussion. ASPS describes examination and measurements of the relevant body regions before treatment recommendations. A package menu cannot replace that assessment. You can also ask what would change in the operation, recovery and quote if an optional component were left out. That is a request for a revised plan, rather than a reason to add work simply because it is advertised together. The liposuction and labiaplasty guides cover the component decisions in detail.

Ask your surgeon

“Are these additions actually included, which areas do they treat, and what changes if I leave them out?”

What the bundle adds

Which scars come with a mommy makeover combination?

Mommy makeover scars follow the operations selected, so there is no single package scar pattern. The Aesthetic Society says incision patterns vary with the combination and incision lines are permanent even when they fade. ASPS says scars improve but do not disappear completely.

The combination changes the scar plan

Tuck with augmentation

Abdominal scars and the selected breast-access scar.

Tuck with lift

Abdominal scars and the selected lift pattern.

Tuck with lift and implants

Ask how the lift and implant access are planned together.

The Aesthetic Society says incision patterns vary and incision lines are permanent. ASPS says scars improve but do not disappear.

Ask the surgeon to draw the proposed scars on a body outline and label the operation responsible for each. The schematic below compares possible breast and abdominal combinations; it cannot predict your incision length or final appearance. Breast augmentation access, a breast lift pattern and the extent of the abdominal operation need their own explanation. If the proposal changes after your examination, have the scar discussion updated too. Ask what a garment or swimsuit may cover using the locations your surgeon actually proposes, rather than using a generic after photo as a map. Before-and-after photos can help you discuss goals, but a picture of a different combination does not define your plan. Keep the scar map with the operation list so the tradeoffs stay visible as you compare options.

Ask your surgeon

“Can you draw the scars for my exact combination and explain how they change with each optional procedure?”

What the bundle adds

Must mommy makeover procedures happen in the same surgery?

Mommy makeover procedures do not have to happen in the same surgery. ASPS describes the operation as typically single-stage, while the Aesthetic Society says a treatment plan can specify procedure order. Combined recovery may be more intense despite sharing a recovery period.

The proposal needs a sequence

Combined

The selected procedures share an operation and recovery period.

Staged

The plan separates operations and recovery windows.

ASPS says typically single-stage. The Aesthetic Society says the plan can specify procedure order and combined recovery may be more intense.

Ask for a combined proposal and a staged alternative when the sequence affects your decision. Those proposals should identify the operations in each session and how help at home would be arranged. The word bundle can describe the overall goal without requiring every component to occur together. It also does not establish that combining is safer than staging. The dedicated staged-versus-combined question page explains why studies comparing combined operations with isolated procedures leave the full staged course unanswered. If you compare prices for these alternatives, ask the practice for each complete plan rather than adding separate advertised procedure fees yourself. The scope, setting and aftercare can differ. A clear proposal tells you both what is being done and when it is being done.

Ask your surgeon

“Would you combine or stage my selected procedures, and what changes in recovery, setting and total quote?”

Before you agree

What should a mommy makeover package price include?

A mommy makeover price needs an itemized explanation of the operations and fees it covers. ASPS lists surgeon, anesthesia, facility, medications, implants, garments and testing as potential cost components, not promised inclusions. The package label does not establish an all-in total.

What does this package include?

Named operations and liposuction areas
Surgeon, anesthesia and facility
Implants, garments, tests and medicines
Overnight care and follow-up arrangements
Items charged separately
ASPS lists potential cost components. A component’s appearance on this worksheet does not mean the practice includes it.

Use the worksheet to ask whether each item is included, separate or still unknown. Add overnight care and follow-up arrangements as questions rather than assuming they are part of the facility fee. Stony Brook separately describes surgeon, anesthesia and operating-room charges, which shows why a single headline number can leave the fee basis unclear. A quote for a lift with implants is not the same scope as a quote for augmentation without a lift. Liposuction areas and abdominal extent should stay attached to the amount too. The full cost guide keeps researched practice prices separated by combination and fee basis. This page does not supply a package average because identifying what is included comes before comparing amounts. Ask for a revised written total whenever the procedure list changes.

Ask your surgeon

“Which fees, implants, garments and care arrangements are included, and what could I still pay separately?”

Before you agree

How do I confirm my mommy makeover plan is complete?

Confirm a mommy makeover plan by matching your goals to a written operation list, scar plan, sequence, quote and recovery instructions. ASPS describes an individualized consultation that includes your health history and examination. A named package cannot establish that every goal is addressed or that every procedure is suitable for you.

My proposed mommy makeover

My goals and the proposed operation for each
What the plan leaves untreated
Scar locations and possible later surgery
Sequence, recovery help and follow-up
Questions still unanswered
Use your surgeon’s actual proposal. The name mommy makeover does not define the operation.

Bring the same list back when you discuss time off and childcare, because those arrangements depend on the chosen operations. ASPS says to ask whether drains will be used and for how long, and it emphasizes individualized follow-up instructions. It does not say every bundle needs drains. Ask who will give the final instructions and who you should contact if the plan changes before surgery. The Aesthetic Society says later pregnancy or weight gain can compromise results, so future plans belong in the discussion about timing as well as scope. You do not need to solve every component question from this page. Use the main candidacy, cost and recovery guides to follow up on the parts of the proposal you still cannot explain in your own words.

Ask your surgeon

“Can we review the written operation, scar, fee and recovery plans together and mark anything still undecided?”

How we researched this answer

We used the supplied corrected clinical claims and institutional patient education, checked October 17, 2026. The patient-source questions about package contents, different breast operations and quote inclusions shaped this answer. The voices pass has incomplete discussion coverage and selected practice stories; it does not establish how often a component is used. Possible components stay distinct from mandatory inclusions. No component fee is added to create a bundle price. Drawings are schematic and link to the separate component guides. Videos remain ledger-only pending playback and source-specific publication review.

Keep the source’s limits

Care instructions describe a source’s approach and do not clear you for an activity. Study populations, comparisons and follow-up periods stay separate.
