Consultation cheat sheet

Questions for my Rhinoplasty consultation

Encinitas, CA

1

Fit, proportion, and the result we are planning

  1. 1.1What about my anatomy and goals makes rhinoplasty a reasonable fit, and what would make you advise against it?
  2. 1.2Which changes would improve balance while still keeping my face recognizable as mine?
  3. 1.3Can we compare settled results from patients with a bridge, tip, skin thickness, or facial proportions close to mine?
  4. 1.4Which parts of my goal are predictable, and which are limited by skin, cartilage, prior injury, or healing?
2

Technique, breathing, and safety

  1. 2.1Will you evaluate my breathing and septum as well as the cosmetic plan?
  2. 2.2Would you use an open or closed approach, and why is that the better tradeoff for me?
  3. 2.3Who provides anesthesia, where is surgery performed, and is the facility accredited?
  4. 2.4What complications and revisions have you handled after rhinoplasty, and who answers if I am worried after hours?
3

Recovery, cost, and follow-through

  1. 3.1What may I see and feel after one week, six weeks, three months, and one year?
  2. 3.2When may I safely return to work, exercise, travel, glasses, nose blowing, and contact sports?
  3. 3.3What is the complete written cost, including surgeon, facility, anesthesia, tests, prescriptions, and follow-up?
  4. 3.4What is your revision policy, when would a revision be considered, and which costs could still be mine?

Before you go

A five-minute prep list

  • Bring a current medication, supplement, allergy, breathing, and health history list.
  • Save a few settled results that show what you like—and one that shows what you do not want.
  • Write down whether appearance, breathing, or both matter most to you.
  • Bring your calendar and think through work, caregiving, travel, exercise, and help during recovery.
  • Set the total amount you are comfortable spending before you discuss financing or monthly payments.

Say this first

The one thing I want them to understand

Use this sheet to organize a consultation—not as medical advice. Independently verify licenses, relevant credentials, and facility accreditation. Individual risks, recovery, and results vary.

What I want to remember

Encinitas edition

Write the answer in your own words. If something still feels unclear, circle it and ask again before you decide.

1

The plan, in my own words

What would they do, with which product or technique, and over how many visits?

2

The result they believe is realistic

What change should I expect, and what is unlikely to change?

3

Risks or tradeoffs to think about

Which ones apply to me, and what would the practice do if something went wrong?

4

The full price

What is included, what may cost more, and what might I pay for maintenance later?

5

What still needs an answer

Write down anything that felt vague, rushed, or different from what you expected.

6

My next step, if I want one

Do I need another consultation, more time, or one specific piece of information?
